Project ‘Pili-Pala’ – The New Collection
Pili-Pala
Happiness is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it will elude you. The collection is an attempt to capture the playful elusiveness of the butterfly, or in Welsh, pili-pala.
Stylist and milk_shake UK ambassador, Shelley Pengilly, wanted to achieve a delicate yet dramatic look for the collection inspired by the butterfly. Shelley used Kapello hair extensions on her model. All colours used were milk_shake smoothies and direct colour cocktails.
‘My mission for this project was to find the perfect colour combination. Mixing milk_shake Direct Colour to create cocktails, I came up with the candy hues for this delicately ethereal look! I used copper wire to structure the braids, and created a delicate web-like texture in the hair peices’
– Shelley Pengilly (milk_shake UK Brand Ambassador)
We caught up with Make-Up Artist, Jessica Verity to ask how she achieved this look.
Well! My aim was to create a soft but untameable look on Nia.
‘I wanted to experiment with colour and also make reference to Nature as that was our inspiration for the collection! I really loved how the deep green and high shine gold shadows complimented the milkshake colours in the braid. For the lashes I drew inspiration from the flutter of a Butterfly wing. Beautifully delicate!’
